    Yappy puppy gets "scrappy" crate

As in mostly built from odds/ends walnut scraps from around the shop.

Our mini-aussie shepherd (Daisy) joined the family 2 weeks ago and has a temporary metal crate that suits her current size. We've placed the new crate in the living room so she'll have a chance to get used to it for a bit before it becomes her home in a few weeks. Her older sisters (Buttercup, yellow lab... and Mabel border collie/shepherd mix.. ) similarly have walnut sleeping crates, so they're all matched up now.

That's surely the most elegant dog crate I (maybe the world) has ever seen. Nice work! How do you keep the dogs, especially when puppies, from chewing and scratching up the wood elements--or do you just accept such as part of the bargain we humans enter into in exchange for the joy they bring us?

Wow Bob! That's a really nice sllep station for your pup!

    Thanks guys!

Our pups need to "graduate" in order to be rewarded with a more beautiful crate. Their first crate is a typical all-metal (available at most pet stores)... once they're "good girls" we move them into their new digs. So scratching/damaging the crate doesn't occur.

Also, the floor of each of the crates is linoleum to help with minor messes/spills.

Edit: For reference, the older "double-crate" is pictured here
