Just wondering if anyone in the Tricities TN or Southwest VA area who might be willing to give me some spindle turning pointers? I'm signed up for a beginning lathe class in August, but was hoping to at least get some basics figured out before then. There's a Tricities club, but their website is down and they don't respond on Facebook.

hi Jason, unfortunately I am not - but wanted to make sure you were aware of the American Association of Woodworking's site - https://aawforum.org - very active w.r.t. turning and might have luck there.
