I recently picked up a fairly generic used fiber laser from someone (it's the "laser on a stand with a separate blue box with handles" style). The sticker on the side says "220V/50 Hz" power, but the cord he included was a 120V power cable, and the power inlet is the V14 style (like this one, but with a fuse and switch: https://www.amazon.com/PNGKNYOCN-Pan...5920231&sr=8-6)
Their website still shows this model as being available, but the pictures look slightly different. I think mine's from 2018 based on the serial number. The website version says it works with any voltage between 90 and 240 V.
I need to open it anyway to fix a broken USB cable. How can I tell what voltage the power supply needs? Are all of these things actually universal, or is there an internal switch or mod to go from 120 V to 240 V?
