    Interesting new sheet material....Acre

    Rice hulls and PVC. Seems like it would work well for table saw inserts, maybe cross cut-sleds. Lighter than MDF, with a bit of resilience. Pleasant to machine (with good dust collection). Waterproof. I've just experimented some with a 6" square sample.

    Downsides: thermal expansion (not sure how much in shop environment), waste disposal (no burn or compost)..

    at $115/sheet for 1/2" reasonable in comparison to what it might replace.

    that sounds interesting.

    I was listening to NPR and they had an expert on about different materials that are being recycled like plastic netting (fishing industry) and cow poop... Always fun to find recycled materials.

    There is a place out here (CA) where they built a new manufacturing plant to make rice hull mdf. The only problem is, that we're in a severe drought. Kind of puts a damper on growing rice
