Dust Port on Delta bandsaw

It is all about air flow. Some of the designs that use a vacuum hose attachment that attaches right below the table achieve a lot of capture with a vacuum cleaner but base of the door need big cfm. I am using a 5hp smart gorilla pro to overcome the inherent limitations of the design.

On a closed cabinet like a bandsaw it is all about making sure there is an additional port allowing replacement air in at the same rate as the extracted air.

True but the typical Rockwell/Delta 14" cast iron bandsaw and it's dozens of clones are not anywhere close to being closed cabinet saws. There is no shortage of open areas for replacement air.
