    budget laser for engraving logos?

I'm still doing some preliminary research on this, but I'd like to engrave my logo on finished pieces. Idea is to directly apply to inconspicuous areas such as the under side of cutting boards/tables or inlay engraved medallions into the piece with assistance of a Shaper origin.

I don't necessarily need to cut wood or engrave metal objects which suggests an inexpensive diode laser such as an Ortur pro or xtool D1 would do the job? Not sure about software but seems like lightburn or illustrator is the most utilized. Any feedback is apprecieated, thanks!

Chris Edwards did the same with an Ortur laser. Here's a link to his post.

How about solar energy for the laser. Think frying ants with a magnifying glass with CNC.
