    Can Conversion Varnish be Recoated

Thinking down the road if this should become necessary, but can this be done? I was thinking of giving it a light sanding with 320 stearated being careful not to get ghosting from lower layers and then spray one coat possibly reduced 5% - 10% to avoid orange peel. Appreciate thoughts on this. THanks

I sprayed it over 3year old minwax polyurethane and it worked fine. I suspect it can go on almost cured finishes just fine.

Thoughts only, it may work, in that it is a varnish, ultimately, and like any varnish or polyurethane, scuff sanding is required, as they rely more on a mechanical bond vs. coalescing into previous coats, like a nitrocellulose product.

I would contact the help desk of the manufacturer who produced it for any advice on touch-up for a proper answer - each product has it's own quirks anymore. At very least, if you have a sample board, test it out.
