I made a mistake and ordered a 3/4" jumper hose without a swivel end for connection to an air compressor. I can't find an appropriate adapter. Can a brass ground joint union be used instead?

Why not just use the length of rubber hose, why is a swivel needed?

Don't know where you looked but I had a hydraulic shop make my hose and he crimped 2 non-swivel ends on it. I looked at it and ask if I was suppose to pick the compressor up and rotate it to connect ........... oops. They had a swivel fitting adapter to add on that he gave me. All that to say they do make them.
You can use a union or take Darrell's advice and get the swivel adapter. If you use the union make sure you install it with the flow going the proper direction.

300 lb black malleable iron union union should be fine. Dont get a cast one. Alternatively a 3000lb union will work too. Available at a pipe supply.
As long as the threads are compatible, you should be fine and it will help you "relax" the hose as you make your connection between your air network and your compressor.
