    Waterlox Question

Can waterlox be used like a wiping varnish without thinning?

I'm finishing a gunstock and used thinned waterlox, 50/50, to wet sand for pore filling. Now that the pore filling is done I'd like to add additional coats of waterlox but don't know if I should continue with thinned or go full strength.

Yes, that's how it's intended to be used. I would use it full strength now, and only thin it if you have difficulty with streaks. That shouldn't be a problem on something as small as a gunstock though.

Yes, full strength wiped on is normal for the product. Be sure to follow the recoating advice from the manufacturer for best results as with any product. Watch your ventilations, too...I find Waterlox to be pretty "heady" in that respect...
