    Laser Tube Alignment Question

    Hello,

I just changed my 80 w tube and in doing so I noticed that the tube brackets were not set parallel to the machine by the factory (they are off by more than 5mm). How important to beam alignment is it to make sure that the brackets are parallel to the machine? Also how much is alignment affected when laser end is lifted to enhance bubble purge? Is there a maximum lift recommended?

    Thank you all,
    Meagan

The tube can be at any skeewompus angle, it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that the tube's beam hits the first mirror in the center, and it steers the beam correctly to the center of the second mirror. As long as the light path from mirror 1 to mirror 2 is running straight in relation to the machine, all should be good--
