spindle encoder PM3520C

The rpm digital display and indexing display quit working on my 3520c but the center green on-off light is still lit. Customer service was good and the spindle encoder was diagnosed as the culprit.
The replacement part showed up today so we'll see how this goes tomorrow....

I spent right at 2 hours replacing the spindle encoder. Removing and sliding the motor completely out of the way is a must in order to get both hands in there and make the swap. There are screws in the back of the headstock holding the encoder mounting bracket that need to be moved out of the way too, pretty straight forward after that.....no real explanation as to why the spindle encoder failed.
