Thread: Door lock sensors

    Door lock sensors

The gas pistons on my door got weak and the door came crashing down.
Loosened the magnetic sensors on both sides. Now I can't seem to get them to work again. Tried several times to push them up and lock in place but they don't seem to work. can the senors go bad or do I just not have them in the right position?
is there away around it so I can get a job done

The safety door on my Epilog quit working years ago. I used 2 small neodymium magnets to "bypass" original
    magnets---BUT----I still keep door shut.

Luckily for me I could see where they were embeded in the plastic door top. The sensors were under the foam seal on top of
the metal rail of the enclosure. I have been able to open and close the safety door since, even during a run!

I have used name tag magnets on top of the cabinet magnet to circumvent the interlocks.

I had to replace the gas shock absorbers on one of my machines several years ago-forgot which machine-but I found the supplier in New York. Same brand as the laser mfr used. I just tried to find them without success. Look up gas struts if you need them.

Guden is a gas shock manufacturer in NY that Mike could not recall the name.

Last summer I replaced all the gas struts for the storage doors of our motorhome, I just got them from Amazon, brand is Arana, got several different lengths and push-weights, I'm happy-
The 17"/60lb ers were $19 a pair, I've seen double that price in the auto parts stores for similar---

do you know the push-weight on the old ones? You'll need that to get the right replacements... Length is easy, just measure them extended between the pivot points-
    ========================================
ELEVEN - rotary cutter tool machines
    FOUR - CO2 lasers
THREE- make that FOUR now - fiber lasers
    ONE - vinyl cutter

Yes all the info is on the sticker on the struts. But I'm still having problems getting the sensors lined up right. PITA and I can't stand in that weird postion trying to line them up back kills me
