    Birdseye Shaker Side Table

Finished this over the Christmas break. Pretty happy with how it came out, and it ties in well with the other pieces I've made for the room.

Really nice Jim! What finish did you use; the grain really pops!

Real nice , lean and modern with a big hangover requiring no aspirin ! Good job on matching the top.

    Nice. Solid wood, huh?

Yes, but the drawer bottoms are ply.
Took my inspiration from this piece: Table, Side (shakermuseum.us) and the Shaker shop drawings by Ejner Handberg.

Great looking table. Well done. I am a fan of Shaker design.I think the highly figured maple was a great choice. Thanks for posting this. I’m inspired to source some similar lumber.

Drawers at each end is a nice feature that I have not seen before. The style is very attractive and your wood selection and the finishing look great. Congratulations!
Rustic? Well, no. That was not my intention!

Eye catching figure with high function - large top surface area, 2 drawers and shelf below!
