Unknown Extra Parts for MM FS41ES? Pic

I received these extra parts and I have no idea what they are for. No mention in the manual either. One is a small steel rod, and the other is some kind of plastic handle. Anyone have an idea?

The black thing is a push handle for DIY'ing your pushblock. I have seen that steel pin on saws, for locking the arbor when you do a blade change, but not on a J/P. Do you need to lock the cutterhead in place or something?

The rod looks like the one that holds the arbor still when changing the blade on my slider. As Erik said, the plastic handle is for making your own push block.

Maybe they didn't mean to include it. I thought it was odd the jointer came with a push stick too.
