Ihad a pair of Craftsman No.3720 (Sargent #79) that I had rehabbed,,,did not want to just toss them into a cardboard box...so..Pine Project Boards from Lowes, already had some 1/4" plywood...had hinges and a pair of latches,,,,
1 plane was complete, the other not so....fancy plane gets the fancy box, and a not so fancy box for the other plane. Copied a couple old logo/labels...Witch's Brew for the stain. 2 coats of clear gloss poly....brass fittings to protect the bottom corners of the boxes..

Fancier box, for the complete plane, of course...Through Dovetails. Lids have 1/2 pin and a single "tail" at the corners. Lids were sawn off, had to line up the cut just for that..

And the Red Label

Boxes were sized to be able to be stacked on a shelf..

And, there is a build-along post..somewhere.
I wanted something a little bit better than just a cardboard box.....
