Thread: Carbide bandsaw blade

    Carbide bandsaw blade

    I'm looking at Woodmaster CT.

1.3TPI vs 2TPI. I'm thinking I should get 2TPI, which one do you all use?

I'm pretty sure I've used the 1.3 but not sure if it matters that much. We're talking 1.0" blade, right?

I use the 1.3 TPI ... I haven't used the 2 TPI blade, but generally I find a lower TPI to produce better results on the bandsaw. I'm guessing because the lower teeth count allows for better clearance.

I'm interested too, but the 1.3 cuts just fine for me.

I'll chip in 50 bucks for my share of the blade for anyone that wants to do a quality test of the two blades cutting the same wood, on the same machine, and show pictures of results.

I have and use both. 1.3 I use for tall cuts.
The 2 tooth leaves a very good surface almost as good as a Resaw king.
Im pretty good at setting up my saw for both blades.
The 2t is more expensive but if you can afford both I say go for it.
    Good Luck

Couldn't you mitigate any difference in finish quality just by adjusting feed rate? I always sort of "felt" my way through the cut.

1.3 is my preferred tooth count for carbide. It leaves a nicer finish than a 4tpi bimetal

The 1.3 tpi blade leaves a great surface finish for me and it is a LOT cheaper than the 2 tpi version. The only reason I see for buying the 2 tpi one is if you plan to use it to rip stuff thinner than 1".
