Spindle moulder sander head Braun Schleiffix

Just wondering if anyone on this forum has one and your thoughts on them?

I do have a belt sander but due to the size of my workshop it is positioned so I can only use the flat side of the sander. If this works well I might as well get rid of my sander.

Put wheels under the belt sander and move it out to use it better. A non-oscillating drum sander goes through abrasive really quickly.

A friend had one for his Felder combo and mentioned that the slowest spindle speed was still much too fast. If I remember correctly, you have the electro spindle on your SCM? Maybe you can dial down to an appropriate rpm

You would be better off with a table mounted brush edge sander or a profile sander.

I have a couple of the Felder Schlefix bobbins for my shaper.

I use them for curve sanding at 3,000 RPM with the curve guard.

    They work fine….Regards, Rod.
