    A box with Fancy corners

    From scraps of Ash...."leftover"

There IS a build thread...so I'll just post a few pictures of the Finished box...
Front view is a bit plain...
    Project Post, front view.JPG
Back side has almost hidden hinges...and a thin, book-matched lid..
    Project Post, hinge side view.JPG
Open up that lid to see a very simple latch....magnet in the lid latches onto...
    Project Post, Inside the box.JPG
best part of this box, though, is how the grain flows all the way around the box...like I simply folded the board..
    Project Post,Corner view.JPG
A beaded spline that almost looks like a hinge....sits where the mitered corner meet...
    Project Post, follow that grain.JPG
Again, making it look like I had just folded a board into the shape of a box....with hinges so it could be unfolded, and laid out flat...
    Project Post, corner details.JPG
    Cut from a single 1 x 6 x 6' Ash plank...longer sides are 12" long, ends are 6"....all are 4" tall...Lid is 1/4" thick.

    Thanks for looking in...

A fine finish to an interesting joinery adventure. I like the folded hinge look!
