    bookmatched crotch walnut tray

Ive had a lovely little chunk of crotch walnut sitting on my rack for a while now, maybe 3/4" thickness, waiting to be useful. My wife has a list of christmas presents i need to get sorted, one of which is a serving tray, perfect fit. As far as a quick little project goes, this one turned out lovely. Straight black walnut with curly maple dovetail splines, finished in BLO and nitro lacquer.

Really nice. I have some book matched walnut crotch veneer waiting for the right project. Hope you don't mind if I borrow your design.

I don’t mind one bit. I’ve learned this hobby mostly via reverse engineering ideas off this forum, I’m pumped to be able to actually contribute back!
