Forgot and left My Powermatic 2000 run for an hour unattended. Motor too hot to touch. Next day it started running backwards, replaced starter capacitor, zip. Anyone pulled that 5hp, 1ph, 240v monster?

Correction, it is a 3hp, not 5.

pulled the motor on my SawStop to move it down into the basement. SawStop sent me how to do info, basically a 2x slid in and motor cranked down until it rested on it. removal went smooth
hopefully your saw will go the same way
good luck

What is it? SF for motor? I have used a bottle jack to install some motors in akward places.

You left your table saw running,,,for an hour? Ok but I would think that's a continuous duty motor, loaded. Unloaded it should not get hot.
Some guys are cutting for an hour. Shouldn’t have caused a problem. Likely something else. Bad bearings?
Sometimes a motor will get full of sawdust. That will make it run hot,,,but not backwards. Inspect the wiring connections. May be something is crossed up. Or maybe the starter is bad.
