    Source For Figured Shorts

About eight years ago I moved from Puget Sound to southern Maine. I get asked to make of fair number of jewelry boxes so I moved my supply of short pieces of figured wood for the tops.

I haven't found a good source in my area & I am just about out. I purchase the bulk of my hardwood from Highland Hardwoods in NH & Seacoast in Sanford Maine. Looking for recommendations for local or online source that I have missed.

I like Cook Woods in Oregon for small pieces of interesting woods. I used to order shorts of curly maple from Belle Forest Products in assortments by weight, but not sure they still do that.

Not sure what size or species you are looking for, but you might check out the boxes of figured maple off-cuts that Kimball Hardwoods (in RI) offers.

Agree with above Cook Woods in Oregon (no affiliation) is a reputable seller. Their prices to ship to me up here are reasonable for reasonable sized items.

Be a little more specific about what you want, you may help out some of us wood hoarders.
