Local primitives shop find... no mfr., just the letter U on the underside of the lever cap and Made in USA behind the knob. Haven't rehabbed it yet.

Definitely has Stanley DNA. Could you post another pic of the Lateral Adjust Lever and what the back of the frog looks like?

I have a very similar plane, down to the red knob and brown tote. Only difference as far as I can tell from your photo is that the body of mine was originally painted black rather than red. Mine is a pretty low-quality plane, with unmachined surfaces on the blade bed and frog/body mating surfaces. The other noteworthy feature on mine is that the lateral adjuster is a single piece, twisted to form the part you push on.
I think mine is a late-manufacture (1930s-ish, maybe?) Union but I'm not really sure.
