applying finish to wood inside sauna?

I am working on finally finishing the steam sauna in my basement and not sure if should put finish on the wood. all the wood in sauna is Aspin. i was told not to put finish on buy one place that talked to but see others that say should.. If do apply finish what would work ??

No, you don't finish the interior walls of a natural wood sauna with good reason. Anything you do to the wood is going to be subject to very high heat and humidity. It's either going to fall off or off gas. Don't put anything on it.

What Harriet said. With no exposure to UV, the wood will stay quite fresh looking for a long time, years even.
