    Rubio, Osmo, Odies, etc

    Hello,

I am going to be finishing a black walnut river table soon and wanted to see if anyone had any experience in the differences of these finishes? I have done small tables before using Rubio and really liked it, but the sheen was definitely a flatter finish.

I am looking for something that is "mostly" waterproof, can be buffed to a higher sheen, long lasting, and very easy to put on like a Rubio. The table will be in a basement and I am sure will get drinks set on it as well as some spills.

Looking for suggestions if I should stick to the Rubio or any others may be better suited.

    Thanks!

Two others to consider are Target Coatings EM9300 and Mohawk / Behlen Rockhard Table Top varnish.
    I like both of them.
EM9300 is water-based and Rockhard is oil-based. I would say Rockhard has the tougher finish of the two.

    Regards,

    Phil
