    Stanley#95 replacement iron

    6 months ago I ran out of blade adjustment on my Stanley #95 Edge Trimming Plane. An ongoing search on ebay failed to find a replacement, so I made the decision to make my own using a spare block plane iron with matching notches on the back. (replacement iron shown left in attachments).

    Good job Stewie. I have the Lie Nielsen reproduction as well as the Veritas R and L hand version. I do like the 95.

    Stewie,

    Cool idea, and it turned out really well! Great job, and I know from experience that sometimes parts on some planes can be really tough to come up with, either that or somewhat painful to the wallet.

    Regards,

    Stew

    Thanks Stew; international shipping to oz from the UK and USA is nowadays extremely painful to the wallet.

    Fortunately most of my vintage tool purchases were made at a time when it was far cheaper to invest.

    regards Stewie;
