Wax your clamps and the glue won't stick to them.

Holy cow, thanks! Just spent a half hour getting tape off bunch of clamps this morning using tape to avoid the glue (another trick offered in another thread) doesn't work that well for me as it tears and bunches up if I try and leave it on and just adds wasted time pulling it off between use.

Yet another use for Johnson's Paste Wax. I wax my cast iron tables and lubricate the gears and ways of my Unisaw with it too. This wax has many uses in the shop.

What a great suggestion! Wish I had thought of that or heard the suggestion sooner, but will be waxing the clamps tomorrow morning.

Here's a thought....use less glue. Squeeze out of a properly glued joint should be small beads of glue spaced along the joint. If it puddles, runs or drips off the joint you used too much glue.
