    I use acetone periodically to do a "deep clean" of my Chinex and other paint brushes and there's never any harm. Despite the fact that I'm pretty anal about cleaning them immediately after use, there will always be just a little bit of stuff left over time that goes away with a deep clean in that stuff. 'Glad that brush came clean for you!

    Paint/varnish stripper will clean a natural bristle brush. May take a few hours of soaking.
