Rikon 30-212VS: 12” VS Drill Press

Does any one have experience with the Rikon model 30-212VS: 12” VS Drill Press?

I need to replace my 20+ years old tabletop one. No room for a floor model. Any and all insights, recommendations, ideas are most welcome!

    Thanks!

I looked at the Rikon and bought a Wen 4214 instead.
The Rikon has more power and is capable of lower speeds than the Wen.
For the additional $200 or so, no doubt the Rikon has some better components.

The Wen was just a better fit for my needs and budget.

I also have an old GMC that I can set to a low speed and just leave it there - so I don't require the 200 RPM the Rikon has, I can get by with the 570 RPM of the Wen.
The extra power would be nice though - but - not for the extra cost at this point.

You have room on your bench but not on the floor? Easy peasy, saw a foot off your bench. A floor model is so much better.
