1/32" Metal Spacers, where to buy?

I'm in need of some 1/32" thick metal washers/spacers and all I see in my big box store is washers at 1/16" thick and that's too thick. I'm trying level out some tools and this seems to be the way to go per some youtube guys I follow. Are they known as something else, other than a washer or a spacer? Any tips where I can purchase them? Thanks in advance!

I would try McMaster-Carr. Failing that, an on-line search is your best bet I'd say.

Fender washers are much thinner than standard washers. In fact fender washers make great spacers for fitting cabinet doors and drawer faces. You can even buy them in nylon for using around finished work.

Can you buy 1/32" sheet metal stock and cut it to your needs?

A search using "shim stock" should turn up many possibilities.

Try an auto parts place for alignment shims. Various sizes. Probably on Amazon too.

You can always use feeler gauges (as long as they are big enough for your needs). You might try searching for thickness (or feeler) gauge stock. I think they usually are 1/2" wide by 12" long.

My standard 1/32” spacer is an old credit card. If you avoid the debossed name part, they’re 1/32 thick. They’re waterproof, and can easily be cut to size.

I use the gift card samples near the register.

McMaster has shims in about any shape and thickness you could need. Or maybe even want.

But, yeah, nothing wrong with a credit card, or even layers of tape, if you've got the surface area.

I used hard cardboard from cereal boxes to level my chop saw. 15 years in, they seem to be holding up.

Some cars use buckets and loose spacers to adjust the valves. They use precision ground round shim stacks inside the bucket. Do you need a hole or not?
