End Grain Cutting Board Using 2x3 Blocks

Hey all......

I lurk in the weeds here mostly. But I have some cherry wood timber 2" x 3" left over from a head board project. Anyone ever do an end grain cutting board encompassing larger dimension lumber in the build. I'm wondering how maybe a block or two incorporated in the build might go.

Any input would be very much appreciated...

My first 'foray' into end-grain cutting boards was to use-up a very large stack of maple gym flooring. It was a lot-of-work that ended-up with 'artsy' results ... that got better when I needed to use-up an accumulation of white oak.
