3M Jet Melt TC hot glue Gun

I live in the United Kingdom a 3M Jet Melt TC hot glue Gun is for sale on eBay

The gun uses 5/8" glue sticks This size of glue stick is not widely available in the Uk

My question could I use 1/2" glue sticks with this gun

Sounds to me that they want you to only use their glue sticks rather than what is more commonly available. Possibility that it is a better grade glue, but I have no clue. I did see a hot melt glue gun at my wood store that they said is used in flooring. Apparently it is hard enough to be sanded and finished.

I did what John suggested and contacted the seller The gun will only advance the thicker 5/8" glue sticks

We used those guns with the Quad Track feeding option in the model shop at Caterpillar. Used glue sticks by the case there. I think you could overheat the heater and under heat the stick from lack of 360 degree contact with the undersized glue stick
