Use utility knife blades in the Makita XDS01Z cut out saw?

The instruction manual for the Makita XDS01Z saw ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) says that three connected break-away utility knife blades can be used in the saw instead of the proprietary saw blade. Has any Creeker tried this?

    To what end ?

Hitachi years ago had what they called an electric knife (I think that was what it was called). It took standard utility knife blades and was the best tool I ever found for cutting out drywall. I would think this Makita saw would work equally as well.

XDS01 is fantastic for cutting drywall without a mess. As long as you don't need small circles.

Their special blade works a dream and lasts a long time.
