I had a bunch of 6/4 and 4/4 Cherry for about 35 years now, that originally was going to be used for an armoire. Since I never used it for that it’s been sitting for a long time. 10 years ago I bought a white Crate and Barrel kitchen table and chairs. I got tired looking looking at the all white top and base, and since I’ve always liked the look of painted furniture with natural wood combined, I built a new top for this table with that cherry. I made the bread board ends out of 6/4 cherry and the two edges also with 6/4 cherry and the rest of the field is all 4/4 to give it a more substantial look.
