    Considering Wood Movement

    I'm a bit fuzzy joining solid wood. I want to glue & screws a flat piece of new red oak (6" x 6" x 3/4") centered flat onto a very old oak board (14" x 14" x 3/4") with the grains in the same direction. My immediate thought is "no problem". Please advise if that sounds ok. Thank you in advance.

    I agree with Mark provided both pieces start with about the same moisture content and both have the same or no finish.
