    Leigh D1285 Dovetail jig

I bought a used D1258 and got the upgrade kit for making single pass dovetails but I'm having a hard time with it. Looking at the fingers and to me they should set flat or flatter then they do. Wondering if someone could tell me if this jig looks correct or not.

The leigh jig I have sits flat on both sides. Think I would check the mounting brackets on the sides for issues. The fingers will follow what they are attached to.

    Good luck

I would check the brackets that hold the finger jig for squareness.

If you find they aren't square you may want to get the router support. The one for the D4R came with an extra set of brackets because some of the older models the brackets were too short to work with the router support.

Yes I just looked at the bracket and they are FAR from square.

I could see if it was dropped how they could bend.

It looks like for $120 you can get the vacuum/ router support for it. It'll come with two new brackets to replace the bent ones.

You can bend those brackets a little too, one of mine got messed up in a moving accident. Bent it back and it works fine.
