Live edge walnut tusked trestle table- picture heavy

I owed my butcher a favor, he asked me to make him a cribbage coffee table. As much as I would have rather made a standard coffee table, this thing turned out pretty legit. 3.5” thick slab top, zircote Dutchman with epoxy in the bark inclusion. Solid walnut trestle base, zircote tusks. Finish is BLO, blond shellac and satin emtech 6000 lacquer. Figured I would make a matching peg/card box as an added touch

OMG...that is incredible...your butcher must have really done you a solid if this is the way you return a favor. But then I love wood and cribbage, so maybe I'm biased!!!

Your posting title says 'picture heavy.' It looks like the table is quite heavy as well. Your butcher must be very happy. Is there a nice cut of meat in your future? Good work and thanks for sharing.
Rustic? Well, no. That was not my intention!

It’s certainly not gonna fall over. Haha. When I delivered it Saturday he said I apparently now have free meat for life. Lol. He will certainly regret that.

I love it. Really thoughtful and different design. I like the way you patched the big gap. The box is great also.

Wish you owed me a favor.

Very nice! I play cribbage. I make Trestle tables. A well made trestle table is a simple design, but takes skill. Love the wood.

That's a serious cribbage table! Should last a few hundred years or so. Nice work!
