A use for strips of scraps

    Instead of kindling....

Had a stash of strips...from ripping a few boards to width...usually 3/4-1" thick....some a bit wider than others....and sitting all over the shop...
Area between the bandsaw's riser, and the blade is ~12"......ran all them strips through....those that were too short were tossed.....the rest were glued up into a panel...

Then all the rest of the operations....results?

    Topside..and ..
    Cutting Board, 1st coat, underside.JPG
    Underside.....2 coats of Mineral Oil.....

I glue them up and use them for cutting boards too. Or if they are wider and same species I glue them up for drawer sides. Hard for hobbyist woodworkers to throw away a usable strip of hardwood!

Friend of ours now has a new cutting board, and just the right size for her small kitchen....and one less item sitting around in my house....and...she LOVED it!
