My last couple humidors. Both are solid spanish cedar with shop sawn veneers and mun ebony trim. They were both hammer veneered with hot hide glue. Finish is ebony dust and hide glue for voids, ultra blond shellac and gloss polished emtech 6000 lacquer. Let me know what you think!

I get my spanish cedar from my local wood guru in Edmonton, WG chanin hardwoods, he's got the most incredible wood I've ever seen, very reasonable price too. As for the inside of the boxes, I won't get the stuff from boveda until tomorrow, but the pic attached is another that I built, these will be identical. IMG_1738.jpg

Excellent work. I see the brusso quadrant hinges. It take some crazy confidence to take on quadrant hinges after all meticulous work. Bravo

Quadrant hinges are just the worst to install, but they’re the absolute best hinge out there for a humidor. After putting so much work into those humidors there’s an awful lot that can go wrong with the hinge install. First pair I installed must have taken me a couple hours, I’ve got it down to 10mins now after a dozen sets.

It takes me 4 or 5 hours to install brussos quadrant hinge. But I don’t use a router I use chisels and a small drill. I’m too chicken to offer up my almost completed work to the routers whirring bit.Originally Posted by justin byers

I like using my router and an edge guide. Always nice and repeatable. The toughest thing for me is setting the depth just right, just a hair deeper than the hinge width, but too far or too shallow and you’re in trouble. Like I said, if they weren’t so beautiful I wouldn’t give them a second thought, but man they are so so nice.
