I have worked with a lot of old CO2 lasers in the steel rule die industry. Two of them were from German companies. Elcede and Lasercomb. We also had a laser that was designed and built by a company called Laser Machining who were bought out by Preco Industries. Another laser we had at a different company was made by a US company called Data Technology, who was bought out by Gerber about 20 years ago. The wattage of these lasers was between 500 and 1500, and the table sizes were all 48" x 96", with the exception of the rotary lasers. I also designed files and ran a Gerber CNC router and a ZUND G3 cutting table that was about 60" x 120".

I have read a lot about Trotec, and most of it is positive. I was turned off by the Job Control software, but I think it was more of the rep I was dealing with wasn't very computer literate. If Trotec stocks most of the main parts in MI, it might be the best choice if you are in MI.
