    Lenox Workmaster CT or Trimaster?

For a SCM S440P with a 1" blade used for resawing.

    Thoughts?

I'm really, really happy with the cut I get from the 1" Woodmaster CT on my S500P. I've seen cuts on a MM 16" with a Trimaster and it was very much the same. I'd buy an extra ⅜" blade with the difference.

The CT gives an incredibly smooth cut and costs substantially less, which is why I have one on my saw; 1.3 tpi. I think it was around $100 less for my saw than for a Trimaster. And it's not hard to resharpen yourself which makes it a real bargain.

Start with the cheaper CT 1.3. If you decide down the road to try the 2-3 Trimaster, you will also have more experience with that particular saw and if you decide the CT give great results, there is no need for a more expensive choice. You can sharpen a Trimaster more times but my experience is that you are just as likely to screw up the band as dull the teeth. Just be careful with the tracking so when the saw fires up, the blade doesn't move forward into the guard before you can stop it. Don't ask. Dave
