    My workshop space

    Hello everyone,

I realized that after i introduced myself I doen post any pics and info about my shop.

So I live in a Greek island called Paros and for years I owned a small shop working mainly on smokingpipes and keepsake boxes and chairs.

Almost a year ago I took tha big decision to move to a proper shop with proper machinery and here is the result.

General view and some details of the roubo Ive made last year and the unfinished but usable Pekovich style tool cabinet. I used to work on the 2 construction grade 2" x 12" attached to the kitchen cabinets and cutting my joinery on a homade moxxon with homemade hardware, so what an update!!!

I still move things arround and making more storage units but I feel that this will never stop, hehe

Thanks everyone for the welcoming. My 4 leg assistant is more like a sleepy accessory to the shop, haha he is 12yo now and is my companion to all my woodworking journey.

My first post was about this planner thickenesser.
I'm Greece there are a Lot of woodworking shops closed the past 10 years. Most of the machines between 80's and 00's in these shops were Italian made and a few Greek made.
So the second hand market is full with heavy made industrial Grade machines. It's easier and cheaper to find a 40+cm wide planner or combination than a 25/30cm.

So I bought this Casadei 51cm combo with 4 knives and mortising unit for 800euros and I changed bearings and belts for 110euros. A son of an old woodworker had it on a storage so he gifted me some extra knives and bits. I spend 2-3 days working with steel wool on tables, rolls and Pilar and a deep cleaning of chains ect.

The saw/shaper is a brand new SCM St3 with 2.3 slider and lots of extras. 5650 euros shipped to my shop.

The bandsaw was second hand from Italian factory, 1100 shipped to my shop, had broken switch so I just override it and used an external wall thermal switch.

The lathe was brought new on 2013, is a Warco 280.

We spent a couple of weeks in Greece (Athens, Mykonos, Naxos, and Santorini) 6 or 7 years ago & loved the place. The people were wonderful, as was the food & scenery. I'm envious of your nice shop and the place you live.
