    Nice job!!!

I like it! I made a couple of the "Tsunami" (Cherry w/Walnut pulls and Walnut w/ Canarywood pulls) and now need to make a couple more. I'm gonna try the "Lotus" (I think thats what it's called, the big one on the base) after I do them.

Here are some I did at Christmas

I ended up doing about 15 at Christmas. Still have two sitting in my closet, just in case I need them, and got so tired of sanding them, I still have one left at about 80% in the shop.

Outside ones are Mahogany w/ Ambrosia Maple Pulls. Middle one is Ambrosia Maple with Walnut face on the drawers.

    Drawer question?

How do you cut out the drawers so they are hollow?

    Here is the basic process

Here is the basic process: (Short answer)

    1. Glue up the block.

    2. Cut 1/2" off the back "face" of the block with BS.

    3. Cut out the drawers from main block

    4. Sand the inside of where you cut the drawers out.

    5. Glue the back, back on to the main block, being careful to match up the grain.

    6. Cut 1/2" off the front "face" of the drawer, and 1/4" off of the back "face"

    7. Lay drawer on it's Front or back, and cut out "U" shaped hollows for the drawers.

    8. Glue the front and back, back on to the drawers.

    9. Sand all.

    10. Attach drawer pulls.

    11. Finish

Long answer - read Lois Keeners book

Thanks Bob. Also thanks Mark I went to a demo Sunday and that is just the way he did it except front of draw was only 1/4 but I think 1/2 may be better. Halsey

It's 1/4" off the back off the blank for the first cut, then when you cut the drawer face off it's 1/2" and the back of the drawer is 1/4"

You can buy the book a lot cheaper at www.bestwebbuys,com/books/ pretty sure it's $15.00 shipping included.

Brad H, the finish is Danish oil followed by a wax buffing.
