    Black Coolibah Lumber

I was at a wood dealer today and saw a slab (approx. 5' x 21" x 1" thick) labled as "Black Coolibah." I am only familiar with Red Coolibah burl from Australia. I have never seen Coolibah sawed in slab version. Is anyone familiar with this lumber and what can you tell me. This piece was not cheap - about $60 brd. ft.

    BLACK COOLIBAH (Eucalyptus microtheca)

Grows mostly in Australia's Northern regions.
This one is mostly black to deep brown with fine whitish (mineral) thread-like deposits in grain, some in burl form, but not high figure.
Hard, cuts, drills and finishes well with oil or surface finishes

!Weighs 70-80 lbs per cubic foot.!

This slab was mostly red in color with two thin black stripes running across it.
