    Metabo and Mafell dust extractors

Just kicking the tires on dust extractors, looking at specs and debating for when the time comes that I want to purchase.
Have read a lot of good things on starmix, which in the states is Metabo or Mafell.

Spec wise They seem somewhat identical, with the exception being the Mafell is 220v, Metabo is 110v 220v isn’t a huge concern, as whatever I get will pretty much be used in the basement or garage, and I can wire up outlets appropriately. It would greatly reduce any opportunities to use mobile in other parts of the house or anything for clean up as needed. I do have other shop vacs for that though.
There isn’t a whole lot of information on either, so I guess I’m just throwing it out there for debate as to pros and cons. I’ve read the metabo hose is rather stiff and anti static. Does not come with the sustainer dock plate, now Mafell does (and I see a nice price increase for that)
    Both are 9 gal capacities.
Intended uses would be small tool dust collection- track saw/ miter saw/ sanders/ ect.

    Aaaaand go!

Why are you gavitating towards those two instead of festool, fein, bosch, flex, nilfisk, or makita ? All are more readily available, have better service access, some actually perform better as well as have more features.

No particular reasons, other than reading how well the ipulse works compared to others.
More or less just trying to gather info, as there just isn’t a ton on starmix like there is on festool Bosch fein, ect. Haven’t read up on makita, and nilfisk I just started looking up a few days ago.
At this point it’s just tire kicking, so I have just been browsing here and there in spare time.

The Starmix vac is great, seen it in-person at a shop in Germany, would definitely splurge for the Metabo version if I were looking to replace my CT 26. Cannot imagine who would bother paying almost 2x the price for the identical Mafell-branded one from Timberwolf.

You may want to read this - Metabo was almost last in every category.

Also , the auto clean feature is of little value to most woodworkers. Drywall contractors and concrete guys , sure.

Thanks for that, I’ll read it over. Also thanks for the auto clean tidbit. I did not know that it was more of a drywall/concrete plus.
