    Thumbs up New shop toy!

My son bought this for me, as a Christmas Present...

Instructions are for both kinds the place sells..

He sent a photo of the sign on my shop's door..

So they could make the brass branding "iron"

Even came in a nice wooden box....that someone had broken into during shipment...

They had pried it open, instead of simply using the latch....so now I also get to repair the box....and hope the screws will hold, this time..

May give the iron a test drive, later this week....

    That's a thoughtful gift.
Given your pace we should see it in action soon.

Very thoughtful gift. Eager to find out how you like it. I’ve been considering getting one for a while. Compared to some others I’ve seen online it looks like a quality tool. Who is the manufacturer?

What a practical gift – perfect for a prolific woodworker like you Steven! Generations now some family member or collector will be searching for pieces with your brand on them.

    Cheers, Mike

Practice Run.....had a colour change going on...while waiting for the head to heat up...actually got quite red..

This was while it was un-plugged, and cooling down ( looking for a metal heat-sink stand, now)

A few tries to see when it was hot enough...

Almost there.....then un-plugged it, and try again....

Having a little trouble with the 's in BANDIT'S.....will work on that next time....

So far? Takes quite a while to head up that much Brass.....have to wait until it turns a "coppery" colour...about 20-30 minutes....will clean the iron once it has cooled down...a LOT...
    Might prove useful?

My son ordered it through etsy....shipped from Hong Kong. US Customs broke the box.

May try it out later....the underside of the current project's bottom panel will get a brand....Hmmm..before, or after any finish is applied? That be the question....
