    Might be a dumb question, but did you actually bleach the wood? What finish did you use?

    Just outstanding Johnny. Simple lines looks simple to do but it is deceptively hard to do well. You did it exceptionally well.

    Yes, the wood is bleached. If you sanded down deep enough, you'd see a more typical pink tone and some mineral streaks. The finish is precatalyzed lacquer.
