    Bleached Curly Maple Credenza

The challenge here was that I only had one 12' x 20" soft maple board with this figure to create all the components. I resawed off just enough to make the fronts. Then filleted what was left to create the top and sides. The fronts are veneer over ply with secondary woods on the inside. The front is bookmatched from the center, while the carcass waterfalls on both ends. The carcass is 1" thick with the hidden portion being secondary wood laminated to 1/2" of the curly stuff. Dominos were used for joinery. Solid dovetail drawers with Blum undermounts. Hardware is hand forged from common steel stock. Welded steel base.

That's really beautiful and even striking, Johnny...such a non-typical way to employ the curly striped maple. Outstanding in every way!

That is just beautiful. I love the white curly maple and the contrast with the dark knobs. Can you share the bleaching method and finishing schedule? Well done!

Beautiful work Johnny! That was one incredible board and you certainly got max value out of it.

Agree with all comments. Really great looking piece. I enjoy your posts and advice, Johnny. Did you do the table too? Got more pix of that?
