I have applied oil finishes using various methods
using a brush or cloth
Recently I have been using a different method which I prefer
I put on a pair of plastic disposable gloves .I then hold my fingers together and pour a small amount of finish on my fingers
Next I apply the finish to the bowl with one hand and use my other hand to turn the head stock hand wheel and rotate the bowl
I find this method reduces the amount of oil needed and your hand can apply the oil evenly over the bowl
