    Shoe rack

I posted a pic of this project for my daughter last spring, and the requests keep coming!

They look great, Mark. Put me on the list! Not sure if you gave details in your Spring post, but how are the shelves attached? And what finish did you use for the shelves? I’m just thinking that sometimes shoes are wet/dirty/etc.

Thanks Phil, shelves are attached with Kreg pocket screws. Bought the jig for $20 after examining my 80 years old rock maple chest of drawer and noticing pocket hole joinery! In any event it helps me complete the project quickly so I can get back to my slow relaxing hand tool work. The finish is poly, water based. I did most with Miniwax polycrylic and the last one with Varthane water based poly - yes, I think they have to stand up to melting ice, and salt.

Thanks, Mark. Yep, nothing wrong with some power assist from time to time. I have a few old pieces with pocket joinery as well. The concept has been around forever, Kreg just made it more efficient and consistent.
