Looking for a second Japanese plane - thoughts on Hida’s Michi line? Others?

I am in the market for another Japanese plane. I have one of the $50 Woodcraft 50mm Kanna smoothing planes, and really like it. I’m thinking about getting a couple planes more over time, and am looking at Hida Tool’s Michi line. The have a 36mm block plane that would be a good addition. Anyone here have experience with them? Also, besides Suzuki and Hida, are there other US-based retailers that I should investigate? Thanks.

No experience with their house brand. I have Tsunesaburo Maboroshi planes in 65mm and 48mm I bought from Japan. These are now available at Woodcraft. The Maboroshi blades do not need to be tapped out when the flat on the back of the blade wears out after repeated sharpenings. The Tsunesaburo blades will of better quality than the Michi blades and come with a quality body (dai). But they are not hand forged by one blacksmith in Japan. The better the blade the more money it's going to cost you especially if it's made by a blacksmith in his smithy in Japan.

Two links to tapping out the blades.
